Upon hearing the popular new slogan of Sony of “This is Living” and then getting the now infamous news about the huge PS3 delay for Europe a new website has been unvailed with funny images regarding the delay of the PS3.
The site is quite humorous and speaks volume about the internet and the speed of responce to news such as this. That is why I felt I should post this.

My speakers arrived today (7.1 surround sound speakers from creative). They took a while to set up as each speaker had a stand that could be screwed on to it if desired (which i did) i then had to plug them all up this consisted of everything being plugged into the sub woofer and then the 4 connectors being plunged from that to the back of the pc. In case you are unfamiliar with 7.1 speakers it is basically a set up that consists of 8 speakers – a left front, back, and side speakers and the same for the right as well as a centre speaker and then a sub woofer. When set up properly the sound comes from all around you (great for games as you can have explosions from all around you) - The set up is also very good for watching films!
7.1 is not common at the minute in films as most current ones are 5.1 so i was only able to test it with a 5.1 dvd. There are some great features with my motherboard realtek software/hardware as there are features that allow me to have all the speakers playing songs and videos from itunes etc. when they are not 7.1 (however each speaker is playing the same thing) it gives a very rich and great quality experience.
I look forward to buying some new games and trying them out!

Gengaming is going well. Next google Page Rank update we are predicted to get a 4/10 and visitor numbers are up. The new focus is to provide the best gaming news relay site and ofcourse keep writting our own articles. The news will be written in an informal, jokative manner and be summarised in a few paragraphs at most so you can quickly get the gist of the story.
Next version..
Regarding my new computer I just gave C&C Generals a spin it loaded very fast. I went straight into the options and proudly set everything to maximum. It ran smooth and weet! Never before did I know the buildings or clouds had shadows! Finally im on my way to pro gaming

My new computer has arrived – in several large boxes! It took me about 2 hours to fit the dvd-rom and dvd-writer, hard drive and graphics card (i was taking my time). The instillation of the drives was very easy as the case comes with runners that click into the screw holes on the drives and then you just push them into the slot behind the front door – completely tool-less. The hard drive is just as easy as all you have to do is pull out a cage inside and then use the thumb screws provided to secure it in place however it has an added bonus in that there are already rubber washers in place to reduce vibration. The nVidea 7600gt simply fitted into the pci express slot and then the clip built into the case secured it into place.
The installation of windows was pretty easy – the longest part was the full format of the 200gb hd!
The screen looks great with the 7600gt and there do not appear to be any dead pixels which is good. Sadly i have been unable to make the tv card work so i have been forced to send it back however i will be looking to purchase a new one soon.
I have ordered my speakers now and am waiting for them to arrive (at the minuet i am using the speakers that are built into the monitor however theses are not very good and are only really suitable for use with the windows sounds. I have also ordered another gb of ram to match the one already installed.

I have made my order today (I thought I would order today to try and speed up delivery) however unfortunately I was forced to change a couple of the components due to my first choices being out of stock
- so as opposed to the DVD-ROM previously described I have gone for one be Novatech (at a slightly higher price however it offers a faster CD read speed so it is even better) I also had to purchase a different screen - it is still 19inch and has the same specs as well as being slightly cheaper the only other component I had to change was the TV card which is now a dabs own brand analogue tuner so I will have to wait and see how they perform. Sadly I was not able to order my speakers today but they are due in stock in 2-3 days so I will order them soon as I am not prepared to compromise on them. The total cost of everything (bar the speakers) is £858.69.

I wanted a computer that used the latest technology and would be able to play all the current and future games on the market, however, after looking at various products I either couldn’t get what I wanted or it was far too expensive, so I decided to begin building my own.
Before even starting to look for components I had to set myself a price limit. Otherwise I feared spinning out of control and ending up with a 10k water cooled computer that had 7 graphics cards and 20gb of ram! So I set myself a target of between £900 to £1000 including a screen, peripherals and speakers.
Next I had to decide what I actually wanted the finished computer to do –
So how is Gengaming to go from google page rank 1 to google page rank 4?
First let me quickly explain from the point of view of a non-expert (which is basically the only view I can give as I am a none-expert!). Google gives all sites it indexes a page rank. A value from 0 to 10 that is calculated using top secret google algorithm, that no one knows exactly what it is, but you can have a pretty good guess. The higher your rank, the higher google regards you and therefore the higher it places you on its search results pages.
This is an area I have only just started to dive into as I have mostly been busy on building the site itself rather than looking at increasing traffic let alone all this babble about google page rank! Well for now I am sort of cluing myself up with some pretty useful sites that an easy search on google revealed. I have found one site that actually gives your site a score out of 10 and judges it on various aspects. What score did gengaming get?
Drumroll..
6.0. We have a lot to work on!
It will be interesting to see how over the coming months we can improve on our score and our page rank. Will keep you up to date as I discover more and more about how to build gengaming’s popularity.
Recently when looking at how to advance gengaming I have taken a look at a hell of a lot of other games sites and have found some brilliant ideas, sources of information and good site teams. However, for every great games site out there, there seems to be another 2 rubbish ones.
Whilst I wouldn’t rate gengaming as amazing I would definetly not put it amongst some of the sites I have come across. A lot of sites suffer from lack of activity, poor writting and design. Theres far too many sites out there that are doing the exact same thing as the next gaming site. Our goal for gengaming is to be different, perhaps this has not been achieved so far, but it is definetly on the cards.
So what does currently make gengaming good? Well, for one, gengaming has an active forum. A quick look at the forum statistics reveals that our top poster DragonLord has 925 posts. An impressive figure. Another impressive figure is the total number of posts: 5,832! Looking for more impressive figures? Just take a look at how many times a topic in the forum has been viewed or the fact that the site is about to post its 5th concecutive month of increasing unique visitor numbers.
Ofcourse its not all in the figures. What else is gengaming doing? Well looking at the homepage we have a lot of new articles, many of which report on news before most games sites. We have 7 team members. All of which know what they are talking about when it comes to games. We own our domain, our webspace, our content management system and a copy of ipb forums.
Most of all we love Gengaming! Its our project, our little corner on the internet, from its humble beginnings to its current position to its hopefully bright future.
All of this and I have yet to meet my fellow gengaming staff members! Hope this article was a little insight into how we run gengaming and the direction we hope to take the site in future. A sentimental andi_kam signing off for today! x
This space invaders was created using 67 participants and took 4 hours to make this 3 minute video. Boy and I thought students had too much time on their hands!
I came back today from a long day of lectures drinking down at the pub and my housemate shouts they have given the new nintendo console a name, its called “wii” (pronounced we apparently) No way!
Well apparently.. way… yes the new nintendo console “revolution” is to hense forth be known as “Wii”. Obviously this has sparked a whole host of funny posts and comments throughout the internet the best of which I found on joystiq.com
Wait I’ll write this article in a minute just going for a wii! hehe
Right im sure they will be a lot of information coming out soon about Wii but this article is quite an interesting one discussing why Nintendo chose the name: (apparently the two I’s look like the controllers?)

Now whilst one would never imagine suggesting that any of the gengaming.com site team would ever indulge in smoking some bud we thought that this video clip was funny enough to show. And it gave me an opportunity to try out embedding videos into a blog! and it didnt work! hense the link above!
Have also posted some news on the homepage about the PS3 things we dont know another article from games.net.
Just a bit of a site update in this blog post. We have been posting quite a few news articles recently trying to keep everyone in the know. Mostly updates about the newest consoles. Heres the three latest:
Global Release Date for PS3 Games!,Xsata Xbox 360 Accessory Heaven, PS2 to see a 13% price drop
So whats keeping us busy? Eating easter eggs We’re getting in touch with various companies just requesting information and interviews and we also have a couple of ideas for some new sections to the site.
We want to post some reviews of popular applications for gamers such as teamspeak and ati tray tools and perhaps a round up of the various magazines available to gamers in the UK.
Enjoy the rest of your easter break!
